Back several months ago I decided that I would become licensed to sell insurance products. Since for several years I have believed in life insurance to provide my wife and family with a way to preserve their way of life in case something was to happen to me I figured that I should obtain my license and provide insurance to my mortgage business clientele. Yep, that is right...I am also a mortgage broker providing residential and commercial loans to anyone interested in the best deal going. My motto is "If you can obtain a better deal that I have for you I will take you and a guest to Ruth's Chris steakhouse." Well, in the 5 years I have been originating loans I have never had anyone take me up on this offer. Anyway, on to the class. Today was the second of four days of the 32 hour requirement in order to sit for the state licensing exam. I must say that if I was an instructor I would open the class by stating these exact words:
"In order to show respect for all participants in the class, if anyone must eat ice, constantly sniffle, rub oneself every 15 seconds, or make any other type of noise that is distracting to everyone else please go outside."
Now I am not trying to be a jerk about this, but for the last two days, 8 hours each day out of a class of 12 we had one guy that had to chomp on his ice for the entire class time, and another that had to constantly rub his left leg and left arm to the point that it sounded like he was rubbing two pieces of sandpaper together...constantly, all the while as he would sniffle two short loud inward thrusts of air in to his nose in order to keep it from running. I understand that he may have had allergies or a cold but come on, have some respect and go out and blow your nose. It may not sound like much, but for those of us in the class who are trying to grasp as much information as possible in order to reduce the possibility of failing the state licensing exam, these irritations were very distracting.
